Trending: Punk Fashion Returns
16 May 2013
First the runways and red carpets, and now Los Angeles PR Firm, P3R Publicity‘s client, Romeo & Juliet Couture‘s Fall 2013 Collection; Punk is back, and better than ever before.
Romeo & Juliet Couture’s Fall 2013 Collection is fierce and flirty, mixing denim and leather with checkered prints and studded accents, all perfectly punk and on-trend for fall.

Punk fashion first came to life in the 1970s and ’80s, reflecting the hard-edge music and anti-established lyrics of bands like ‘The Sex Pistols” and “The Clash.” The punk subculture expressed youthful rebellion, encouraged anti-authoritarian ideologies and embraced a style meant to disturb and outrage. Mohawks, piercings, metal-studded and spiked accessories, cut outs and fur were all the rage…and now, PUNK has returned.
It’s taking over the runway…

Versace’s FALL 2013 RTW Collection is “Vunk” according to Donatella Versace, who told Vogue,“Punk was the last movement that really combined music, style, and attitude, and I wanted to translate that for today. It’s elegant and glamorous, but it’s not perfect, because, you know, women can’t always be perfect.”
It’s taking over the red carpet…
This year’s Met Gala was themed “PUNK: Chaos to Couture,” and celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Anne Hathaway dressed to fit the part.

SJP went all out in a Philip Treacey mohawk headpiece, Gilles dress, Fred Leighton jewels, and Christian Louboutin custom boots.

Anne Hathaway went blonde and braless in a black vintage Valentino gown from the designer’s 1992 archives.
If our favorite stars can pull off the rebel chic look, so can we. Embrace your wild side, and let your freak flag fly. Shop PUNK.
