The World Is Your Playground

As Alice Cooper would say, “Schooool’s out for Sum-mer!” which mean’s that it’s time for amusement park season! The longer summer hours mean longer park hours, giving you more time to ride every ride as many times as you want! Not only that, Summer is the time by which many amusement parks want to have updated their rides to be the highest, the fastest, or the newest. Here are some new attractions to really get excited about:
1. Say goodbye to the Magic Kingdom and hello to Fantasyland at Disney World in Orlando, FL. This magic fairy tale forest will host new attractions, character meet-and-greets, and fun restaurants.
2. If you were a fan of Universal Studios’ movie Transformers, then be sure to check out the new Transformers ride, which is a 3-D motion stimulation at the Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. You’ll feel like you’re in a world of robotic cars, planes, tanks, and helicopters.
3. Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA is getting a European inspired ride taken directly from the German’s autobahn. The Verbolten multi-launch roller coaster has two launch zones sending you through an indoor area full of special effects and complete with a free-fall platform. (Just be weary of going overboard at the Bier garden beforehand!)
4. America is getting the first prototype of its kind, the $10 million-plus Manta roller coaster will debut at Sea World in San Diego, CA with dual tunnel launch pads. Fit for the family, this ride has no inversion but drops 54 feet and dips into a lake making it still full of thrills.
5. Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA is using their 415-foot Spiderman: Escape from Krypton coaster tower for the new Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom drop tower, making it the world’s tallest (400 feet) and fastest (85 mph) drop tower. Yikes!
Are you afraid of heights?
