Sugar Loco Gives Rave Reviews for Coupa Cafe’s Desserts

Sugar Loco, an online dessert website featuring the best from all over the nation, is known for interviewing the top pastry chefs, featuring the most delicious recipes, and posting tasty treats for kids. Editor Alana DeLeon-Lott graciously visited P3R Publicity‘s client Coupa Café in Beverly Hills to try their delectable Venezuelan desserts.

Coupa Café is a hidden gem amongst Beverly Hills waiting to be discovered. Chef and owner Camelia Coupal prepared  for Sugar Loco her rich Chocolate Mousse made from 100% Venezuelan cocoa, that Alana found “light, airy and deliciously rich.” The editor noted that this recipe has been passed down two generations stating she could “taste the love and care that goes into this recipe.” Next up was Tres Leches that Alana found the BEST she has ever tasted, which is an honor coming from a dessert critique. Made with three milks, one secret to Camelia’s recipe, this Tres Leches was “melt in your mouth amazingness.” Lastly, Alana tried the irresistible Quesillo, a Venezuelan staple dessert with the flavor of rum and Venezuelan Crème Caramel. Next time you start reaching for your traditional dessert, make sure to head over to Coupa Café and try what they have to offer. To read the whole review click HERE.

Say Cheese: Indulge in the Celebration of the Burger

Today marks a very important day that most likely all too few know about; National Cheeseburger Day! It’s the time of year that makes for a legitimate reason to visit local favorites and order the biggest, juiciest cheeseburger on the menu. But before you hit the streets in search of a tantalizing burger that will do Cheeseburger Day justice, here are some places that embody the Los Angeles cheeseburger experience.

For the oldest and most cherished hamburger places, try Apple Pan located in West Los Angeles. For over 50 years, Apple Pan still toasts every hamburger bun on a griddle the old fashioned way while the hamburger itself comes with the savory taste of beef Angelenos know and love.

The contemporary burger can be found at none other than Father’s Office located in Santa Monica. This gastropub serves up their Office Burger on a fresh baguette with two cheeses, onion, arugula and bacon.

Of course, In-N-Out is still the go-to for many seeking convenience and supreme taste. With grilled onions, their special sauce, and a multitude of locations, it offers the best of both worlds.

But for something new with a refreshing Venezuelan twist, head to Beverly Hills for Coupa Café’s Coupa Burger. Recently earning Beverly Hill’s Reader’s Choice for Best Beef Burger, Coupa serves the Coupa Burger on a sesame seed bun with a variety of cheeses, avocado, bacon, grilled onion, mushrooms and a side of their award winning fries.

Reality Stars Hit Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, California is famously known for its posh locations and providing luxury shopping experiences to all that visit. With all of this comes another growing trend that has been gaining momentum and taken the upscale city pleasantly by surprise; it’s none other than the television boom of Reality TV.

Seemingly better suited for its Hollywood neighbor, Beverly Hills has been hit by this TV phenomenon and has seen popular shows like “Khloe and Lamar” peruse local hotspots.

Adding to the reality TV celebrity sighting’s list, is the fabulous Rodeo Drive that has been a frequent home to the “Shah’s of Sunset”, “The Beverly Hills Nannies” who are often spotted shooting in Coldwater Canyon Park and the Beverly Hills restaurant Coupa Café, a favorite amongst “The Basketball Wives” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” group.

So why the sudden surge in reality television in Beverly Hills? Considering its well kept public areas, its upscale dining and fabulous atmosphere, the more suitable question may be, why not!

Paint the Town Red: Spain Style!

The little city of Bunol, Spain was painted red as they geared up for one of the biggest food fights ever! But don’t worry, they do this every year; sixty eight years to be exact. It’s been their long standing tradition La Tomatina or the Tomato Festival, that has only one rule: hurl tomatoes at anyone and everyone! And on Wednesday as over 40,000 people flooded town-square, 120 tons of tomatoes were brought in by the truck load to be used as ammunition in this wild tomato fight.

La Tomatina is hands down the unabridged salute to those red, rounded morsels, but what are some of the other ways tomatoes have inspired traditions? Here is a look at some of the most fun and popular traditions inspired by, the tomato of course!

1.)    Tomato Soup: Campbell’s got it right; So right that it became a new form of art! Tomato Soup is great on cold days or just days where you need a little extra comfort.

2.)    Heirloom Tomatoes: This tomato tradition of growing colorful and unique tomatoes has gotten popular fast and for good reason! Adding a little fun inside your tomato dish and inside the kitchen.

3.) Tomato Bruschetta: Often a necessity to begin any Italian dish or Venezuelan dish just right. The Venezuelan restaurant Coupa Café offers their Tomato Bruschetta just a little differently than the rest with the tasty combination of freshly chopped tomatoes and parmesan cheese throughout.

What’s your tomato favorite?

TGI Fries-day

Today is the last day to VOTE for Coupa Café on the Beverly Hills Patch for ‘Best Fries’!  Coupa has already won the Reader’s Choice for ‘Best Burger‘ and ‘Best Latté‘ so obviously it’s a serious contender!

These “Coupa Frites” are among customers’ favorite items to order.  One Yelp reviewer described them as, “delectable french fries (I’m talking Good with a capital ‘G’)!”  Those already familiar with Coupa know that the restaurant’s specialties are mostly Venezuelan dishes, yet the Italian, American, and other cuisines offered are just as memorable!
