With the three-day weekend in full effect, it’s hard not to think of the old fashion that you shouldn’t wear white between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Have you ever wondered the origin of that maxim? We at P3R are here to debunk any fashion myths!
The rule began of truly out of necessity. White clothing was a way for people to stay cool in the heat of the summer and once the weather cooled down, right after Labor Day, wearing white only would only make people too cold so they avoided it. In turn, the weather typically didn’t heat up again until around Memorial Day. As time progressed and air conditioning evolved, wearing white between Memorial Day and Labor Day became purely a signal of status and knowledge.
Here at P3R we love to bend the rules of fashion. We approve of your fashion risks and fully support wearing white jeans whenever you feel like it. Looking for a brand new pair to break in this summer? Try the Italian denim line Nine in the Morning. Their white skinny jeans have an impeccable fit and are sure to last you year round! Get the look of your favorite celebrities breaking the rules in their white denim. Fashionistas like Cameron Diaz, Zoe Saldana, Giselle Bundchen and Jennifer Lopez dare to wear white.
