Say Cheese: Indulge in the Celebration of the Burger

Today marks a very important day that most likely all too few know about; National Cheeseburger Day! It’s the time of year that makes for a legitimate reason to visit local favorites and order the biggest, juiciest cheeseburger on the menu. But before you hit the streets in search of a tantalizing burger that will do Cheeseburger Day justice, here are some places that embody the Los Angeles cheeseburger experience.

For the oldest and most cherished hamburger places, try Apple Pan located in West Los Angeles. For over 50 years, Apple Pan still toasts every hamburger bun on a griddle the old fashioned way while the hamburger itself comes with the savory taste of beef Angelenos know and love.

The contemporary burger can be found at none other than Father’s Office located in Santa Monica. This gastropub serves up their Office Burger on a fresh baguette with two cheeses, onion, arugula and bacon.

Of course, In-N-Out is still the go-to for many seeking convenience and supreme taste. With grilled onions, their special sauce, and a multitude of locations, it offers the best of both worlds.

But for something new with a refreshing Venezuelan twist, head to Beverly Hills for Coupa Café’s Coupa Burger. Recently earning Beverly Hill’s Reader’s Choice for Best Beef Burger, Coupa serves the Coupa Burger on a sesame seed bun with a variety of cheeses, avocado, bacon, grilled onion, mushrooms and a side of their award winning fries.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side, of Art

Every second Thursday of the month, Downtown Los Angeles is swarmed with throngs of people. Why, you ask? It’s DTLA’s Art Walk! Galleries and shops open their doors to display local artists in a celebration of, you guessed it, art! Going on from noon until around 10PM, locals swarm downtown to get a sneak peak of the latest trends.

Mainly on Spring and Main St. and spanning from 2nd to 9th, you will see people going in and out of galleries with friends, family or flying solo. You can get a real feel for LA’s art community and those who just appreciate this culture. No need to rush, there are cafés, restaurants, and bars that offer specials when you need a break. Local artists also set up in the area with booths of clothing, accessories, and trinkets to take part in public art activities and programs. This day of the month is one not to miss as Downtown LA comes alive!
