On The Itinerary For Your L.A. Getaway

As schools begin to let out for summer break in a few weeks, Los Angeles slowly becomes filled with visitors.  Everyone secretly wants to peep a celeb, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to find them without feeling like a stalker.  For those searching for the latest hangout without spending a fortune, Coupa Café, right in the heart of Beverly Hills, is a great place to spot celebs.  Zoe Saldana, Kim Basinger, Wilmer Valderrama, Camilla Belle, Jeremy Sisto, Al Pacino, Beverly Hills housewives Taylor Armstrong and Dana Wilkey, and Jesse McCartney have been known to make Coupa Café their chill spot.

International Women’s Day: Camelia Coupal

In celebration of International Women’s Day, P3R profiles Camelia Coupal, chef and owner of local Venezuelan restaurant Coupa Café.

Camelia Coupal

Born in Caracas, Camelia is very close to her large family, no matter their geographic location.  It might be surprising to find that she has a passion for Africa.  You would assume she’d focus her charitable efforts on Venezuela, or even her hometown of Los Angeles.  However, she says that Africa needs as much attention as possible since it has the highest level of poverty, hunger and disease of any other continent in the world.  Camelia wanted to get involved so she contacted an organization called Global Volunteer Network, a New Zealand-based charitable company that works directly with local organizations in each country throughout Africa.

When not in Africa, Camelia remains in contact with another organization called Children International, in which she sponsors a child in Zambia.

She is also a board member for Letʼs Erase the Stigma Educational Foundation.  LETS helps organize school-based LETS Clubs that provide opportunities for children, adolescents, and young adults to provide early education for their peers.  The Foundation openly discusses stigma, which is the #1 reason why individuals with mental health concerns do not seek treatment.

Camelia is an inspiration for women who want to get involved and make a difference.
