Rock On

The 27th annual Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place in Cleveland last night.  The Ceremony was chock-full of amazing performances like, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and an extended-jam version of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground.”

A few of the inductees included Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Donovan, Laura Nyro, The Small Faces/The Faces, and Freddie King.

Axl Rose did not show up to the ceremony, but his former band mates sure did!  They accepted their statuettes and rocked out to many old school Guns N’Roses tunes with singer Myles Kennedy.

During funny man Chris Rock’s introduction of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he made a true statement about Rose’s lack of participation. “A lot of people are disappointed that Axl Rose isn’t here. But let’s face it, even if he was going to be here, he still wouldn’t be here yet.”

The Induction Ceremony will premiere on HBO on Saturday, May 5 so don’t forget to tune in!

Be Good To Yourself: Dr. Haworth’s Healthy Living Tips

Are you such a busy person that it’s hard to keep up with a certain diet/exercise routine? Take some healthy living tips from a surgeon!

Who: Dr. Randal Haworth, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon

For the professional with a busy lifestyle:

1.  For a quick snack, cottage cheese with pineapple is my go-to choice.  It’s a healthy balance for an in-between meal.

2. As I get older, my metabolism is changing, which means I need to change-up my routine and incorporate more aerobics with weight training.  I swear by my Technogym Elliptical.  It’s a professional grade machine that has a built-in TV so I can watch my favorite movies while working out.  It’s an incentive because I’ll watch the first half one day, then want to work out again the next day to finish it!  It’s all about tricking yourself into being active even when you don’t feel like it.

3. It’s very hard to keep on a strict diet when dining out, but at home I like to stick with soups and salads.  Soups are a great way to feel satisfied with just a few hundred calories. As long as I feel full, I’m a happy camper!

4. Another way I stay in shape is that I go on hikes with my dog every other day.  It’s a fun way to relax, while bonding with man’s best friend.

Hollywood is addicted to Coupa Café

Hollywood has done it again, by featuring the well-known Coupa Café coffee cup in another hit movie! Those in the know have already sipped from a Coupa Café cup with their incredible coffee. 

Their infamous coffee cup has been seen in The Social Network and now in The Muppets movie.  Fans of Coupa Café’s locations in Palo Alto, Stanford, and Beverly Hills have been drinking their delicious cup of home grown Venezuelan coffee for over the past decade, and now twitter is buzzing with the latest news.

Says owner Camelia Coupal, “We received lots of calls and emails from customers over the Facebook film when our coffee cup was on the screen for five minutes, and now the new The Muppets movie has our fans reaching out to us again. I just saw the film last weekend and it was great!  It was fun to see our café’s cup in the hands of actress Rashida Jones, who plays a CDE Executive in the film.”

And now we’re craving a cup!  Grab some friends and enjoy Coupa Cafe before seeing The Muppets. Whoever said dinner and a movie had to be a serious date affair anyways?
