London Olympics

Eat, Sleep, Compete

Ever wonder where they house all of the athletes for the Olympic games? Well we have a sneak peak for you, the newly renovated London Olympic Housing. Opening up just this week for the London Olympic Games, the Housing has been outfitted to hold “16,000 athletes, coaches, and officials.” How’s that for all-inclusive!

This $1.5 billion complex has been built to serve the athletes with a 24-hour cafeteria to keep the athletes fueled. An astonishing 25,000 loaves of bread are expected to be served throughout the Games’ duration along with food inspired by international cuisines such as Carribean, Indian, and Mediterranean, and of course the familiar McDonald’s. Between eating and exercising, these athletes will need to catch some z’s to remain calm. That’s why each athlete-friendly room comes with two beds with sporty-themed blankets reading “excellence, friendship and respect.”

That all sounds wonderful, but from the looks of the released photo, we’re wondering how those muscular athletes fit on those tiny beds?!
