I constantly have to remind myself how lucky I am to live in Los Angeles. I got to move around a lot, throughout Europe and the US,
Los Angeles is heaven when it comes to weather, business opportunities, restaurants… Speaking of restaurants, here are a few of my favorites:

1. Asia de Cuba is my #1 favorite dining destination in LA. They have amazingly delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and top customer service.   
2. Momed is a great casual lunch/dinner place that serves very healthy Mediterranean food.   
3. Urth Caffe is top on my list for a delicious Spanish Latte.  
4. Coupa Cafe always satisfies my sweet tooth. Their Tres Leches dessert is sooooo good.

Do You Dare To Wear White?

With the three-day weekend in full effect, it’s hard not to think of the old fashion that you shouldn’t wear white between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Have you ever wondered the origin of that maxim? We at P3R are here to debunk any fashion myths!

The rule began of truly out of necessity. White clothing was a way for people to stay cool in the heat of the summer and once the weather cooled down, right after Labor Day, wearing white only would only make people too cold so they avoided it. In turn, the weather typically didn’t heat up again until around Memorial Day. As time progressed and air conditioning evolved, wearing white between Memorial Day and Labor Day became purely a signal of status and knowledge.

Cheers To Summer

You can’t forget Memorial Day is to remember those fallen soldiers who died fighting for our beloved country. However, Memorial Day Weekend is a whole other matter. This weekend people take time from their busy schedules to enjoy the coming summer weather with friends and family alike. From outdoor barbecues to picnics on the beach, all of these moments this weekend must be started with one thing: Happy Hour.

Happy Hour at Coupa Café is 4 – 7 daily and includes some of their assortment of wines and beers along with the best part, their “little cravings.” This Venezuela restaurant features their “tequeños: traditional Venezuelan white cheese sticks wrapped in flour dough,” “arepitas: mini arepitas, reina repiada,” and “mini cachapas: mini corn griddle pancakes, fresh queso de mano.” We know where we’re going this weekend, hope to see you there!

Here in LA we have been so lucky to have such great weather recently, it makes us very excited for a nice summer and Memorial Day weekend. Angelenos, looking to explore some new places this holiday weekend? Read more to find some exciting options!

  1. La Scala Beverly Hills: The Leon Chopped Salad is my addiction…light and filling!
  2. Izakaya: My favorite sushi spot in town! Always fresh and clean tasting food, with a really fun environment.
  3. Jeff’s Gourmet: A small, family-run, kosher burger and sausage joint…never leave disappointed or hungry. Try the western burger!
  4. Barry’s Bootcamp: After eating ALL that you better hit up a workout that’s guaranteed to kick your butt. Natalie Raitano is the most incredible instructor with some of the best beats to rip to.
  5. Shampoo on 3rd: A quirky and young salon, owned by two Israeli brothers that have hair in their blood. A family run salon that has uncles and nephews making every single one of their clients swoon from their European swagger and to die for good looks — owners and brothers Shaul and Shalom make a dynamic duo of hair aficionados, having you leave a newer, sexier, and more confident you.
  6. I love strolling down Robertson on a Saturday afternoon and pop into Madison for some of the most unique duds on the Westside.
  7. The London Hotel – Rooftop pool: With an amazing view of sunset and the city of LA, there’s no better way to spend your weekends this summer than by their pool.
  8. Four Seasons Bar: if you’re up for people watching, this is the place to be — go around an awards show and you won’t believe your eyes.
