Eat, Sleep, Compete

Ever wonder where they house all of the athletes for the Olympic games? Well we have a sneak peak for you, the newly renovated London Olympic Housing. Opening up just this week for the London Olympic Games, the Housing has been outfitted to hold “16,000 athletes, coaches, and officials.” How’s that for all-inclusive!

This $1.5 billion complex has been built to serve the athletes with a 24-hour cafeteria to keep the athletes fueled. An astonishing 25,000 loaves of bread are expected to be served throughout the Games’ duration along with food inspired by international cuisines such as Carribean, Indian, and Mediterranean, and of course the familiar McDonald’s. Between eating and exercising, these athletes will need to catch some z’s to remain calm. That’s why each athlete-friendly room comes with two beds with sporty-themed blankets reading “excellence, friendship and respect.”

That all sounds wonderful, but from the looks of the released photo, we’re wondering how those muscular athletes fit on those tiny beds?!

Shaun White joins GoPro Team

The Winter X Games wrapped up in Aspen last night but that didn’t stop Shaun White from making headlines today.  In last night’s superpipe competition, Shaun (two-time Olympic gold and and thirteen-time X Games gold medal winner) was already set to win with a score of 94. On his victory run he pushed the limit and received a perfect, unprecedented 100.  It was in this light that GoPro decided to add Shaun White to their progressive team, which includes other world class premier ski and snowboard athletes.

The versatility of the GoPro is what makes it unique

“I’m really excited to be working with the team,” said Shaun White. “I’m looking forward to seeing my riding in a different light with new angles that only GoPro cameras can capture.”

GoPro makes the world’s most versatile cameras, enabling people to capture moments in professional quality HD video and photos.  Their mountable, tiny camera is a perfect fit for extreme sports and other exciting activities!

Do you own a GoPro? Do you think Shaun White deserved the perfect 100?
