Punk fashion first came to life in the 1970s and ’80s, reflecting the hard-edge music and anti-established lyrics of bands like ‘The Sex Pistols” and “The Clash.”  The punk subculture expressed youthful rebellion, encouraged anti-authoritarian ideologies and embraced a style meant to disturb and outrage. Mohawks, piercings, metal-studded and spiked accessories, cut outs and fur were all the rage…and now, PUNK has returned.

Versace’s FALL 2013 RTW Collection is “Vunk” according to Donatella Versace, who told Vogue,“Punk was the last movement that really combined music, style, and attitude, and I wanted to translate that for today. It’s elegant and glamorous, but it’s not perfect, because, you know,women can’t always be perfect.”

This year’s Met Gala was themed “PUNK: Chaos to Couture,” and celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Anne Hathaway dressed to fit the part.

P3R Announces New Client, Angel Investor Inessa Obenhuber

P3R Publicity is proud to announce our newest client, angel investor and international business expert, Inessa Obenhuber!  A combination of beauty and brains, Obenhuber is a multi-faceted individual who spends her time bridging investment opportunities between her native Russia and the U.S.

‘Uber’ Convenient Transportation

We’ve all been there. You’re getting ready with your friends, and next thing you know, time has flown by and you need to get to your destination ASAP. So what do you do? In a city with little public transportation, it’s not common you’ll find an Angeleno standing with an outstretched arm on the curb.  Los Angeles is probably the only big city where a loud whistle won’t get you anywhere. With taxis being few and far between and the metro not going everywhere you’d like to go, something was bound to be created. Uber Los Angeles, an app available for both the iPhone and Android, is your on-demand personal driver. Just think, next time you need a ride, you’ll get a fancy town car or SUV with a driver ready and waiting to serve you.

 The best feature of Uber is its use of Google maps to visually pinpoint your location and all drivers located in your area. Rather than waiting twenty minutes without knowing if your ride will ever come, your driver’s time is estimated along with his individual customer rating. 5 stars and 1 minute away and you are ready to go!

Without interrupting conversations, you’ll be notified by text with your driver’s time of arrival, as well as when he arrives. Don’t worry about rummaging through your wallet for cash, your account during set up was linked to your bank! Paying your fare with tip included, all Uber asks is for you to say a quick “thanks” for their unbeatable service. Costing nearly the same as other modes of transportation, we don’t forsee any turning back.

Master the ‘Surfer Girl Hair’ Look

Are you a fan of surfer girl hair?  Blake Lively makes it seem effortless, but we know sometimes it’s not so easy! We’ve listed a few tips to help you achieve the look without the headache:

Okay, so the goal is to make sure it looks as if your hair has been kissed by the sun and tousled by salt water, not mangled with bedhead. (We’ve all been there…)

You can get this look by starting either with wet or dry hair.  If you opt for wet, douse it with sea salt spray.  We suggest something like Tigi Catwalk Session Series Salt Spray.  Scrunch it with your fingers until the style has time to air dry.  If you’re already starting dry, mist it with hairspray and twist sections around your fingers to create volume and dimension.  Rumor has it that Rebecca Romijn is a fan of Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz for this method.

If you actually are hitting the waves, we recommend tying your hair into a braid.  That way when you come out and have to brush through, it won’t break as much.  Try a wide-toothed comb for less strain on your hair.  Also, remember to spritz some leave-in conditioner beforehand, so strands stay hydrated!

The Examiner Features Coupa Café and Their “Kick-Ass Coffee”

Coupa Café made headlines this week in the restaurant review section of The Examiner! Self-proclaimed LA travel diva, Patti Pietschmann stopped into Coupa Café for a quiet dinner with her husband.  She claims that it was “the café that comes to life in Beverly Hills.”

“For dessert, we shared delicious Tres Leches, an amped-up version of the Latin American standby of cake soaked in three kinds of milk (condensed usually being one, though Camelia said the family recipe is a secret). Coupa’s famous coffee would have been the perfect ending, but instead we brought a bag of beans home…  We ground and brewed it this morning and it was kick-ass fantastic.”
