When Sequels Attack

Watch out, it’s coming. Clear the waters, it’s a ssss…sequel! That’s right folks, the “fish are friends” movie is coming back to the big screen.  Announced today is that director Andrew Stanton is returning to animated films to direct Finding Nemo 2! After Disney’s John Carter, Stanton’s first live action movie, many were sad to see him divert from animated films. He and Lee Unkrich have directed countless big name Pixar hits with Unkrich directing Pixar’s top grossing film Toy Story 3, the only movie to beat the original film Finding Nemo.

Pixar is known for its originality and coming up with one unique film after another. Who doesn’t love that jumping lamp at the opening credits?! Some have begun to raise skepticism about all of these sequels, but Toy Story 3 grossed the highest numbers yet! Cars 2 may have allegedly been created for commercial reasons, but it’s not stopping there. With Monsters Inc. 2 in the works and Toy Story 4 getting the “green light,” many have been left wondering is WALL-E or Up next?

What animated sequel do you want to be made?

People’s Choice Awards 2012

The Award Show airs TONIGHT at 9/8c on CBS.  We always look forward to these types of events, and tonight is no different!

Airs LIVE Jan. 11, 9/8c

On Monday, Katy Perry tweeted that she will no longer be attending the event.  This announcement is not surprising as news of her divorce from Russell Brand just broke a few days ago.  ”It’s understandable,” said PCA Executive Producer, Mark Burnett.  He told E! News that, “Things like this happen all the time.”  The show must go on.

One of the reasons we love People’s Choice Awards is because it’s the fans that choose who are nominated.  Check out the actors in the runnings for “Favorite Movie Icon.”

And as per usual, we are waiting in anticipation to see who will wear what. Who are you most looking forward to seeing on the red carpet?
