Entertaining Tips for Hurricane Season

What was once said to be a minor event has now evolved into a catastrophe with the likelihood of affecting 60 million Americans! So what do you do during the power outages and warnings to stay inside? P3R has put together some tips to stay safe and entertained while waiting for the passing hurricane.

Always be alert of the current weather standings and remember to follow the instructions of local officials. Start off by preparing an escape route, emergency plan. Information and checklists can be found on FEMA and Red Cross.

For those of you not in direct danger but with some spare time around the house, make sure to steer away from cabin fever. Catch up with family by busting out old game boards and telling zany stories.

Individuals with younger children or siblings can use this time for fun indoor activities like playing charades,  putting on a puppet show, making household instruments, and creating a fun art project.

Couples, stuck together indoors, can use this alone time to spark up the romance again. Take advantage of the lack of power and phone lines to light some candles, bring out some wine, have an indoor picnic, or play masseuse. Channeling your creativity is crucial at this time so make sure to take this time to bring out the hidden innovator in you!
