Get Egg-cited: How To Make A Healthier Easter Basket

Who doesn’t love a good homemade Easter basket?  Instead of hopping up (no pun intended) everyone on a basket full of sugar, try these simple tricks to make a healthier Easter treat!

Think of fun, non-candy items as your fillers; books, jump ropes, disposable cameras and art supplies.  Garden seeds are also a great addition because it keeps kids involved in a longer-term project to be responsible for.  Plus, they’ll love watching it grow!

For the plastic eggs, stuff them with party beads, coins, confetti, or even cute, pastel colored socks.  Decorate hard-boiled eggs with a PAAS Easter Egg Kit and include those in your basket as well!

No basket is complete without a chocolate bunny, so instead, keep a look out for the antioxidant-rich dark chocolate ones.  There are many health benefits linked to dark chocolate: preventing heart disease, improving your mood, and protecting your skin.  Any excuse to eat chocolate is fine by us!

This past week P3R’s favorite dancing duo, Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower, visited with Extra‘s Mario Lopez at The Grove. The two showed off some of their best moves for the audience and taught Mario a thing or two.

Sink or Swim? Titanic 3D

One of the most beloved films of the 90′s was James Cameron’s ‘Titanic’ and the film’s 3D version is finally here.  In celebration of the film’s 15th anniversary, the story will be as real as ever.  In theaters near you tomorrow, you can catch a glimpse of then-unknown actors Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Scott Mantz from Access Hollywood claims, ”What’s amazing is that for a movie that was shot in 2D, ‘Titanic’ looks amazing in 3D — almost like it was meant to be in 3D all along.”

Our love for ‘Titanic’ is just one of those things, “we’ll never let go” of.

Please Don’t Stop The Music

When Music and Fashion Collide:

I think one of my first albums I ever purchased was “Thank God It’s Friday.”  Partly because as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with Studio 54. What an insanely cool melting pot where people of different ages, ethnicities, professions, and lifestyles all came together under one roof without regard for wealth, creed, color, religion or sexual orientation: the diversity was truly combustible.

The crowd was a mix of actors, artists, dancers, musicians, fashion designers and other tastemakers. I mean (come on!) who wouldn’t want to dance the night away with Andy Warhol, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, Bianca Jagger, Liza Minnelli, Elizabeth Taylor, Jerry Hall, Diana Vreeland, Halston, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Elton John, Margaux Hemingway, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Frank Sinatra, Jasper Johns, Farrah Fawcett, Diana Ross, Grace Jones, Salvador Dalí, Brooke Shields or Cher- Just saying.  All of my pop culture icons under one roof with amazing music?

I love Halston as a brand and love how any girl can look like she has been teleported back to the late 70’s in no time at all. Halston Heritage, the lower priced collection under the label is a very affordable option available at Neiman’s, Saks and other specialty boutiques.

The Tory Burch caftan is a perfect day into night look suitable for a night under the disco ball at Studio 54 and so is this gorgeous Balmain caftan.

I adore Amedeo’s cameo collection. I love the contemporary approach to the ancient art of cameo making alternative materials with very unexpected statement piece style settings- perfect for that Halston dress.

Google Goggles

Google unveils “Project Glass,” and no, it’s not another spin-off of Project Runway with Heidi Klum.  It’s actually a really cool concept that takes the functionality of a smartphone into eyewear. These “reality glasses” provide users real-time information right in front of their eyes, like location, transit, and weather.

The video below is how Google envisions this concept.  According to Wired, Project Glass is still more of a concept than an actual finished product right now.  Even though we won’t see an official release for a very long time, it’s still really exciting to see an example of where technology is headed!
